ICMR का full form English में Indian Council of Medical Research तथा हिन्दी मे भारतीय आयुविज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद कहते है।जिसे भारत सरकार के स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय द्वारा वित्त पोषित किया जाता है।
ICMR को नया स्वरूप 1949 में किया गया इसके पूर्व इसको IRFA कहा जाता था।जिसके पहले डाइरेक्टर डॉ सीजी पंडित बने।तथा जुलाई 1948 में यह IFRA के पहले फुल टाइम सचिव भी नियुक्त हुये थे।
ICMR के कार्य :
ICMR का प्रमुख कार्य भारत में स्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र के लिये जैव चिकित्सा अनुसंधान के निर्माण, समन्वय और संवर्धन करना है।
